We know that we live our faith best when we share God's love with God's people in other places.  Though we are a small church, we are active in the local community and beyond.  This commitment to outreach ministry is simply a part of who we are and have always known ourselves to be, from our early days as the leader in public girls education in Millburn to the 1980's and an active AIDS ministry to today.

We have a number of opportunities for you to join us in helping to meet the needs of God's people.  In addition to the opportunities listed here, we host an annual Drumming Camp and have five ministry partners.  You can learn more about them by visiting the  "Ministry Partners" page.

North Jersey Pride:

We are a proud sponsor of North Jersey Pride.  Our commitment to this annual event is more than just for the day.  St. Stephen's has long been a welcoming and inclusive parish, as well as an advocate for LGBTQ+ rights outside the parish.  This is not a matter of political correctness but a core value in our understanding of the Gospel and how it is we more fully understand and express the image of God in the world.

Christine's Kitchen

Christine's Kitchen is a weekly meal program at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church in West Orange, feeding upwards of 100 people each Saturday.  A few times a year, members and friends of St. Stephen's provide the meal, which since the onset of the pandemic has been a to-go meal.  We remain hopeful that Christine's Kitchen will soon be able to open its doors to provide a hot meal and fellowship for its guests. This is a meaningful activity for families to do together.
