The behind the scenes work begins immediately after the 10:00 Sunday service when our dedicated COUNTERS do the important work of documenting the amount of the monetary offering from the two services. The counters work in pairs to ensure compliance with general accounting practices.
The VESTRY is the group legally responsible for the oversight of the parish, preschool, and cemetery and mausoleum. Comprised of wardens, Vestry members, and the Rector, this group meets monthly and as needed to ensure that we are doing our best to live our faith in accordance with the Canons and Constitution of the Episcopal Church and the Diocese of Newark. They are also spiritual leaders of the parish, so all that they do is grounded in faith and prayer. Wardens and Vestry members are elected by the parish at Annual Meeting.
In addition to the Vestry, we have an elected Treasurer and a Clerk of the Vestry/Recording Secretary.
The Finance Committee is a standing committe of the parish, charged with overseeing the finances of the parish, the preschool, and the cemetery. This group meets monthly with the Treasurer, Business Manager and Rector to review the budget and financial statements, as well as to make recommendations to the Vestry about major financial decisions. The Finance Committee is appointed by the Vestry.
The Trustees of Investments is a subcommittee of the Finance Committee. The Trustees focus on the investment accounts of the parish, preschool, and the cemetery. This group has representatives from the Finance Committee, as well as ad hoc members. The ad hoc members are recommended by the Finance Committee and appointed by the Vestry.
The Preschool Committee is a standing committee of the parish, charged with overseeing the Preschool. This group works closely with the Preschool Director and meets monthly when the Preschool is in session.
